An essential first step, she says, it to ensure there's a way "in which IoT devices are provisioned and authenticated properly into the system" so they can be tracked and protected, she says.

In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's recent Fraud and Breach Summit in Bengaluru, Mishra also discusses:

  • Why IoT devices are tough to monitor;
  • How organizations must identify and monitor IoT risks.

Mishra is director of the security center of excellence at Philips Healthcare, a medical device manufacturer, and has been instrumental in setting up the security center of excellence. She has more than 18 years of experience in software design, architecting, and security.
