"Clearly, these are disruptive things, but they also are extremely valuable," says Simon Godfrey, Director, Security Solutions at CA Technologies UK.Cloud computing. Consumerization. Mobility. These are three of the most ubiquitous trends in banking - and they also represent some of the top risks.

"I think people are working on giving a 'yes, but ...' answer rather than a straight 'no'" when these technologies are requested, Godfrey says.

But more than secure systems, organizations also need security-savvy staffers using these tools. "[They need] people who are aware of the potential sensitivity of the data they're accessing and handling, and the repercussions of not treating this data appropriately," Godfrey says.

This includes Identity Lifecycle Management (IAM, Role and Compliance Management), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Access Control (Privileged User Management), Secure Web Business Enablement (Web Access Management, Federation, Directory, Enterprise Single Sign-on) and Security Information and Event Management.
