The global fraud landscape has shifted dramatically in the past year. Uri Rivner and Erin Englund of BioCatch discuss the urgency of catching money mules, stopping synthetic IDs, and schemes that result from deep social engineering.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group as part of ISMG’s RSA Conference 2021 coverage, Rivner and Englund discuss:

Rivner has been fighting online fraud for 20 years, working closely with major financial institutions on developing strategies against cybercrime. Prior to joining BioCatch, he served as head of new technologies at security giant RSA. Innovations Rivner spearheaded, such as risk-based authentication and the eFraud Network, are now saving the industry billions of dollars in fraud each year.

Englund is the threat analytics lead for North America for BioCatch. She works with some of the largest financial institutions in North America, fighting account opening fraud, synthetic ID, malware, and account takeover. She has over 15 years of experience in online fraud prevention and risk management. Prior to BioCatch, she worked for eBay, combating fraudulent account opening, account takeover and collusion fraud. Later, she worked for CyberSource, helping e-commerce merchants stop card-not-present fraud.
